frequently asked questions

Why are you sold out of donuts before closing time sometimes?

Since we make all our donuts fresh every day and by hand our bakers need to decide every morning how many donuts we’re probably going to sell during the day. Sometimes we end up with leftover donuts, sometimes we sell out early. If it’s foreseeable we’re going to sell out way too early, we try to make more donuts within the day, but since the process takes around three hours (and a lot of hands) it can be a tough call depending on how busy the shop is.

Do you have gluten free donuts?

Unfortunately it’s not possible for us to offer gluten free donuts at the moment – we could use gluten free ingredients, but since we process hundreds of kilos in our bakery and also only have one deep fryer the donuts would always contain gluten.

What makes your donuts special?

All our donuts are handmade from start to finish. Donut making is very labor intensive – the whole process usually takes us around three hours. We start with a yeast dough that needs a lot of time to proof to develop the right airy texture. Then, the dough is rolled and cut by hand and needs to proof again before it can be fried and hand-dipped in our glazes. We’re proud to say we make everything from scratch: glazes, fillings, toppings, everything! We do not use artificial food colouring or preservatives. Plus, all our products are vegan. We always offer a standard range of our most popular flavors plus a range of seasonal flavours wich we change up monthly.

Do you have nut free donuts?

All our donuts are made in the same bakery, so we can’t rule out cross contamination. All our donuts are fried in highly refined peanut oil which does not contain any allergens. If you have severe nut allergies we would strongly advise you to not eat our donuts though because of cross contamination.

Do you do deliveries?

At the moment we are only able to do deliveries for caterings starting from 100 donuts. If there is no way for you to pick up your order, please send us an e-mail and we might be able to figure something out with our bike messenger. We do charge extra for deliveries.

Do you do custom donuts?

For catering inquiries or special wishes, please send us an e-mail and we can work something out.

Why is your coffee more expensive than in regular cafes?

Our single origin coffee is ethically sourced through the Collaborative Coffee Source and roasted by our neighbours Populus Coffee. For us, it is important that the farmers who grow and harvest the coffee beans get a fair payment for all their hard work. Besides that we only use plant based milks which work well with coffee. These are between 1,5 and 2 times more expensive than premium dairy.

Can I bring my own packaging for take away donuts?

Yes, we love when people bring their own tupperware and encourage all our customers to be more thoughtful about the waste that comes with take away orders. Since we do get a lot of take away requests, we feel the least we can do is buy packaging and to go cups which are made from recycled material and are biodegradable.

Are your donuts sugar free?

No. We use raw cane sugar for our dough and most of our glazes are based on powdered sugar.

How long can I keep your donuts?

We always advise to eat our donuts as fresh as possible or throughout the day you’ve purchased them.

Do you take cards?

Yes! Our card reader accepts most cards.
